The soft pink jelly fruit candies are made from local pink guavas, which have distinctive salmon-color flesh with green-yellow skin. A native of Mexico and South America, pink guavas have adapted extraordinarily well to the climate of Hawaii and Maui.
The seeds in guava are entirely edible, but with these fruits, they are removed to make the candies sweet, tangy, and extra fragrant. Over 50% (by weight) of the ingredients are fruits or vegetables, and there is no added fruit color or flavoring.
