This is a wonderful combination that bedazzles! The speckled Czech 12mm Lentil Beads incorporate gray, silver, blue. and flashes of gold as the lei's main canvas. Black Picasso Tear Drop Beads bookend each of the 5 beaded clusters and finally Sky Blue Fire Polish Beads close out the focal section so it pops. This 8" focal section drapes beautifully for the wearer and Toho Matte Opaque Gray Beads finish the edges. Wear it with a simple black or white top and you will be that piece of art in the room - expect to receive many compliments. This necklace lei is finished with silver toned etched magnetic end cap to hold it comfortably around your neck.
The Haku Mini Lei are designed with a 3 or 5 part focal section yet are lighter than the original Haku Necklace Lei we launched in 2020. Each Lei blends rose petal beads (some use large lentil beads) with fire polish and unicorn beads (or mushroom beads) to achieve the stunning affect that it does. These necklace lei drape gently to compliment the neck and cleavage line. This new design pops and you (and the necklace lei) will be the conversation at any event you attend.
This latest design captures the essence of Aloha - and makes a perfect gift for a friend or loved one! As a beautiful glass beaded necklace lei each necklace is handcrafted on Maui and involves meticulous attention to detail while braiding. The bead patterns we use look similar to flowers, but this lei will endure forever. These necklaces feel wonderful to wear and require little to almost no care by using a clean dry towel every few months to keep dust free and bright.
Akalei is Hawaiian for "bead reflections" which describes this unique necklace lei design style made only here on Maui. We reinterpret traditional Hawaiian Lei using a vast assortment of glass and natural beads, Japanese silk and synthetic fibers, and a wide variety of braiding techniques and inspirations from across the globe.
This beautiful handcrafted necklace lei was made using hundreds of glass Japanese seed beads on multiple cords that are woven together on a wooden marudai stand. The necklace lei is created using an ancient Japanese braiding technique called Kumihimo, a Japanese word for “gathered threads". This Haku mini was hand braided by Randy Spicocchi, and the pattern was developed by Rebecca Ann Combs of DesignandAdorn.com.
Kumihimo is an art form that goes back hundreds of years as braids were made for use in armor for Japanese samurai warriors. In modern times these braids are designed as belts (obijime) that are worn as a belt with a kimono.
