`Ohe kāpala is the art of bamboo stamping. `Ohe or bamboo is one of the original “canoe plants” brought to Hawai`i by the early Polynesian settlers in their oceanic voyages and is the kinolau of Kāne. In the Kapa cloth-making process, ‘ohe sticks were cut out to create designs that were then stamped with dye into intricate geometric patterns on the Kapa.
Our Nā Mākua tees are black and feature our original ‘Ohe Kāpala' design printed on the front and back of the tee.
